After a bunch of deliberation and communication between my father and me, we finally decided to go with the Fjord Dutchess from the Andersen Boats in Middlewich, Cheshire. We contacted Andersen Boats through their web site and made provisional booking for the boat.

As is indicated on the map, the boat is equipped with a kitchen and dining area, toilet and shower and two separate rooms. The stearing of canal boats is done from the stern. The motor is located under the aft deck. In the front cockpit is the water storage tank.
The selection of the boat and the boat yard selected what part of England we were going to cruise in. Middlewich, through which we have been through on our previous trips on the 4 Counties Ring, is very close to Manchester with an international airport. Selecting the Fjord Dutchess effectively selected our destination airport in England and that gave me the starting place for trying to figure out the Travel to England.
