...Flood Warning remains in effect for Shelby...Marion...Monroe... Audrain...Boone and Callaway counties until 500 am CDT Friday...
At 925 PM CDT...local law enforcement and the Missouri Department of Transportation report numerous state routes and rural roads remain impassable from heavy rainfall on Wednesday night. There is a chance of thunderstorms overnight as a cold front moves across central and northeast Missouri...but additional heavy rainfall is not expected at this time.
A few of the roads that are closed include Route E just north of Route T in Audrain County...Route E at Perche creek and a low water crossing in Boone County...Route E between Auxvasse and Hatton in Callaway County...Route a at Crooked Creek and Route c at Long Branch in Monroe County as well as Route dd at Otter Creek and Route k at Black Creek in Shelby County.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed...act quickly. Do not enter the water. Turn around and move up to higher ground. Never drive into water of unknown depth...especially at night.
Report flooding to the nearest law enforcement agency so that they may take appropriate action to close flooded roadways. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service in St Louis.
